A 2007 BK Butler Tube Driver circuit with bias knob, which was a reissue of the 911 Tube Works Tube Driver, not the 1980's Tube Driver. Throaty, and dry. It was the Kramer into a Vox wah and a Chandler Tube Driver. BK Butler Tube Driver 3 vs 4 knob version Discussion in 'Effects, Pedals, Strings. Hi I had the 3 knobs, a Tube King, a Chandler amd Tube Works Real Tube Driver, I sold them all except for the Chandler wich I like the most. The 3 knobs sound nice but has massive gain, tried to change the tube but the gain stayed. The bias knob mod is. Sep 15, 2006  New BK Butler Tube Driver Discussion in 'Effects, Pedals. I'm really growing into the new B.K. Butler Tube Driver. My wall wart Chandler Tube Driver seems to have a big midrange hump the new B.K TD doesn't. The bias mod really allows for a great deal of tonal variation. I actually expected it to be a lot more subtle than it is.

Anyway I just unmounted/unscrewed the pcb pots and jacks.everything seems at his place.even solder joints.seems 'original' but the sound is WAY different than an original one. Anyone has a shot of both sides of pcb? (or even only component side) at least I wanna kno if a pair of unsoldered ground pads are normally empty or theres something wrong I serviced one of these a few weeks ago. (hence the schem) Shoot some pics and I'll tell you more if I can.

Edit; the owner sent me pics prior to shipping the unit. Hi everybody, I am in the process of making a diy project for this little beast! I am redrawing Dirk's schematic on Eagle and next step will be making a board layout, obviously available for everyone.

I am asking if someone would be so patient to contribute and give a look to my schematic. I am mostly interested in checking potentiometers orientation, jacks normalling and spotting overall mistakes. I was wondering if anyone has a schematic for the Chandler rack mount TDR-101 Tube Driver.

It is quite different from the original 4 knob pedal- which I bought in 1986/7 but traded in a year later for the rackmount version. (I should have gotten suspicious when the store was offering me the full price I had paid for it toward the 'new and improved' model. In most cases it would have been 50-70% of what I paid originally.) I thought that the rackmount version was too harsh so I added a cap or two (somewhere!) to mellow things out. I'm glad to have found the schematics for the original 4 knob floor pedal here- I hope to rewire my rackmount POS as the 4 knob floor pedal. (One good thing about the rackmount version was the boost switch- I may try to incorporate that into the good design.) Thanks for all of the great information on the Tube Driver! Steve Ahola P.S. About 15 years ago I got a box of 3 or 4 broken rackmount TDR-101's from Dan Torres for $10 so now that I have the real schematic I will see what I can do with them!
