#1 I am trying to install java on this computer and keep getting this error. I open up the installer and it doesn't go anywhere and then the message appears. I don't know what it means, but google led me to this.

To resolve this issue, reset the NTFS permissions for the%SystemRoot% Installer folder to include both the Administrators group and the System account.

I downloaded the offline version, and checked to see that I had no anti virus stuff running. It still is not working. Is there a way I can verify that this is correct?

I do not see anything, but I want to make sure. I always tried installing with windows firewall off, no idea if that does anything.

I do not have any other versions of Java installed at the moment.
