Resident Evil 4: PC Controls are terrible. Oh well, question, how does the controls on Resident Evil 5 look? Comment has been collapsed. They are mouse and keyboard controls for a game that was never intended to be played that way. PC controls are what you want them to be, that's the.

Personally, I find that the Wii remote and the gigantic cross-hair takes a lot out of the game in the Wii version. Making the aiming that much easier interferes with the weapon balance and combat; why bother with the sniper rifle (which still uses analogue stick aiming) when you can just use the pistol to score headshots from the other side of the level?

And when you can quickly and easily aim at any body part, there's no longer any risk to going for the trickier, but more effective shots. I also feel that changing the fairly understated laser-pointer into a huge, glowing cross-hair that changed colour over stuff you could shoot made the game feel a lot more game-y. The game was certainly a blast to play, but it didn't feel very much like resident evil. I never felt like I couldn't handle a situation by just charging in. Whereas with the gamecube controller, I had to be more cautious because aiming was difficult. I had to be a bit more strategic because I wouldn't automatically headshot everyone all the time.

Both ways to play are fun in my opinion. Probably best to play the non-Wii way first, and then play the Wii version and just headshot everything. For the nostalgic feel you could go with the Gamecube controller (gotta love them R and L buttons), but I feel like just about every other version had better controls. Moving the camera with the c-stick just never felt right to me. It felt better on the PS2 controller and even better on the Wii.

I think the Wii version is my favorite, the controls felt very streamlined. Almost, too streamlined. I feel like the Wii version was TOO easy, because you could aim before hitting the aim button and the knife had auto aim. I loved those features, but it made the game feel easy to me. Might have also been because it was like my 7th playthrough by then.but still. Also, the gamecube version also suffers from not having all of the extra modes that they released later, like the 'Separate ways,' story. It just had 'Assignment Ada.'

Evil

Still a great game for the GCN though. I have not yet played the PC version, but I have played just about every other version as soon as it came out. RE4 has a lot of pre-rendered backgrounds, so when you upgrade the textures it can give a lot of backgrounds and environments that cardboard cutout feel to it. It also makes non pre-rendered items really pop out of the background. On the non HD versions everything had a grainy feel to it so everything blended a lot better and gave the game a much dirtier grittier feel. It can also make some models have a shiny almost plastic like look to them.

I personally wasn't bothered by the HD textures but I can understand why a lot of people wouldn't like them.
