Yeah, I think I've heard that you get another 200 something ++ patches for the VS expansion when its in the JD-990???.awesome. I've heard the MVS-1 is 8 part multi.

This is very very cool.not that I need it, but for layering with my other gear, especially the pads, it could come in handy. Side by side, the old Roland gear I own sound light-years better that my V-Synth GT. But alas, I like the sample-mangling capabilities and use it for vocal processing live now, so it must stay. (otherwise I'd be investing/saving some $$$ for a Jup 8 most likely) looking forward to hearing this little tone module. I used to have one, and like an idiot I sold it. I've wanted it back ever since.

(Hey, the search works!) Well, I finally bought another Roland M-VS1 off Craigs for $140. I also bought the companion M-BD1, Bass and Drums, for $45. The Vintage Synth is cool - basically the same as the Vintage Synth JV card. As I once had one, I knew the sounds already. But the bass module caught me by surprise - way better than I thought it would be.

Most samples are of bass guitar and not bass synth which is cool. I sequenced it with Cakewalk 2004 from my old laptop and used the Style Enhancer for fretless.
